My Story

Before I became a photographer, I was a Helmsman for the RNLI in Cowes the Isle of Wight which I did for many years. This was all unpaid as the RNLI is Charity with the crew of the lifeboats not getting paid. Due to an injury of my knee I had to retire from my position, so I was then looking for something else to fill the time left from not doing Lifeboat duties.

My wife Ruth at the time was a very successful makeup artist, and she suggested I had a look at taking up photography as I had always likes taking pictures when we went on holiday. I went along with her suggestion and bought myself a camera and started taking pictures to see what I could produce. It was not long before my new found passion and started to look into photography with more detail. I read lots of books, watched a lot of tutorials (You Tube is King for photographers), enrolled onto a photography courses and took part in specialised wedding photography training. I wanted to make sure I knew what I was doing 100% so I did a lot of photoshoots in both natural and studio lighting, and in all sorts of environments. To this day I still do photoshoots to keep my skills up, and also to try new methods so these can be used on weddings or engagement shoots.

With all this learning I decided that I wanted to take it professionally and this is where I am today. The photography I do is very relaxed and friendly, and my wedding photography is a candid style blended with modern inspired imagery as I feel this is the best way for making my clients feel at ease whilst being photographed. I always look to perform my uttermost best to give you pictures that will bring back memories in years to come.
